Reynold P. Desman, Jr., age 72, passed away on August 29, 2016. He was born on February 17, 1944 in New York City to Dr. Reynold and Tessie Thomas Desman. Ren went to St. Sebastian Grade School '58, proud alum of Hoban high School '62 and Youngstown State University. At Youngstown he enjoyed being a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, and he and others established a professional transportation fraternity on campus called American Society of Traffic and Transportation. Ren worked various logistics functions at B.F. Goodrich Tire Company; import-export specialist and director of customs operations at B.F. Goodrich Chemical in Independence; manager of Global Transportation Department for Geon Company, Independence, Ohio; and manager of Global Logistics for Poly One in Avon Lake, Ohio. As a lifelong boating advocate, he was a certified member of Power Squadron with Advanced Piloting certificates, member of Coast Guard Auxiliary, Hoban alumni and Sacred Heart Church. Renny had many and varied hobbies and interests. Among them, auto and boat restoration, remodeling, construction- and a large outbuilding to support his endeavors. He became a certified welder at age 65. Ren never met a project he didn't like. He was preceded in death by parents, wife Nancy and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by wife Kathleen; brother Richard and sister-in-law Mary Jane; sister Linda; brother-in-law Robert and sister-in-law Sharon Hartnett; sister-in-law, Alice and brother-in-law John Edminister; dear nieces and nephews: Dr. Garrett Desman, Courtney and Austin Cornelio of New York City; Allison and Katelyn Hartnett of Chicago, Illinois and George and Jack Edminister of Akron and Toledo, Ohio. He is also survived by many dear friends and colleagues; grade and high school buddies; fraternity brothers (YITB, Moose); special neighbors and pals from Geneva-on-the-Lake. We are grateful for the life of dear Renny- he was loving and he was loved. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 am Friday, September 9, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 260 Broad St. Wadsworth, Ohio 44281.
