Raymond Paul Thye 82 passed away on July 10 2010 at St. Luke Lutheran Community in North Canton. He was born in Akron on July 20 1947 to the late Florence (nee Knabe) Waring and Adolph Thye. Ray was a proud owner of the Akron Porcelanize Co. and took great pride in auto detailing. He was an avid stamp collector and truly enjoyed the hobby. He served his country during WWII as a seaman with the Navy. Preceded in death by his wife Mildred (nee Schlichte) Thye; special son Roy Allan Thye; sisters Gladys Thye and Irene Hurt; and brother Fred Waring. He is survived by his daughter Jinn (Calvin) Gillispie granddaughter Callie (Chris) Heaver great grandson Wyatt and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to all the staff at St. Luke's for your loving care and heart-felt touches which were greatly appreciated. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Luke Lutheran Community 220 Applegrove ST. NE N. Canton Ohio 44720. According to his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services. A private burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
