Phylis Bruno

Phylis Marjorie Bruno 62 passed away on December 12, 2014 after a brief illness. Born on October 20, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY, she grew up in Akron and graduated from Our Lady Of the Elms High School in 1970. Phylis then went to the Akron City Hospital School of Nursing. After working as an RN in the Akron and Toledo areas, she attended Cardiac Perfusion School in Pittsburgh, PA and began a long career in Erie Pa at Hamot Medical Center. After retirement, she devoted herself as a loving caregiver to her mother and father. A member of our Lady of Victory Parish in Tallmadge, Phylis's passion for life came from her faith and her family - dedicated to both, she lived her life for others. All who knew her loved her. She is preceded in death by her mother Gloria Bruno. Phylis is survived by her father, Robert S Bruno; brother, Robert (Susan) Bruno; niece, Angela (Steve) Boie; nephews, Robert F. (Wendy) Bruno and Andrew (Alison) Bruno; great niece, Serafina Rose; great nephews, Roman, Vincent and Lincoln and many cousins and friends. Our hearts are broken by the loss of our beloved angel. Calling hours will be Tuesday 4-7 p.m. at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St. Akron, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 73 North Ave. Tallmadge, Ohio, followed by interment at Tallmadge Cemetery.
