Philip Smith

Philip Wade Smith passed away September 23, 2022. Born in Akron on November 5, 1947 to Michael and June Smith.

Preceded in death by his son, John Philip Smith and brother Michael Smith. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Susan Marie Smith; daughters Christina (Jim) Wise, Heather (David) Vereecken and Sarah (Adam) Albertson; grandchildren Jenna (Matt) Hastings, Kristin Wise, Payton Wise, Drew Vereecken, Heidi Vereecken, Miranda Smith, Lucy Albertson, and Ellie Albertson; great granddaughter Henley Hastings; brother Richard (Cara) Smith and sisters Susan Nease and Kaylynn (Tim) Collins and many sisters and brothers-in-law, special nieces, nephews, dear friends and pets.

Phil filled his early life with military service, business ownership, and tinkering with fast and classic cars. He retired from The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 30 years of service. In retirement he enjoyed his yard, playing in their pool with his grandchildren, creating stained glass lamps for family and special friends and his dogs.

At Phil's request, his life will be celebrated privately by family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Phil to Interval Brotherhood Home (please list Christina Wise for notifications of your donation).
