Philip Rohr

Philip Anthony Rohr age 64 of Akron passed away unexpectedly Thursday May 31 2012. Philip was born in November 13 1947 to the late Lawrence J. and Mary Katherine (Koegle) Rohr. He is survived by his brother Lawrence J. Rohr Jr. many aunts uncles and cousins. Philip graduated from Kenmore high school in 1965 and later graduated from the University of Akron class of 1972 with a BS in Civil Engineering. Philip was employed by the City of Akron Engineering Department for over 30 years. He also worked for Medina County the Ohio EPA and then retired in 2011. Sadly his declining health kept him from traveling as he wished to do in his retirement. Phil loved to care for his parents talk about the history of his family of Kenmore and the City of Akron. He had an interest in all things involving railroads real and model. 'He will wipe away all tears from their eyes; there will be no more death and no more mourning or sadness.' Saddened by your passing we trust in God's love for you. At Philip's request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday June 6 2012 at St. Vincent Catholic Church 164 W. Market St. Akron at 8:45 AM. The family will receive friends a half hour PRIOR to Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the scholarship fund at St. Vincent Grade School 17 S. Maple St. Akron 44303 or to a charity of your choice.
