Peggy Payne

Peggy S. Payne (Scruggs) died peacefully on August 12 2008 at age 75 after a long illness. She was born on August 13 1932 in Cullman Alabama. Her family moved to Akron Ohio in 1940. Peggy attended Firestone Grade School Garfield High and later in her career she taught at Garfield. She graduated from the University of Akron and did her graduate work at the University of Michigan. She taught school for over 17 year and touched the lives of so many. On June 20 1959 she was married to Paul F. Payne. They lived in Copley all of their married life. Peggy retired in 1972 when their son Paul B. Payne was born. She is survived by her husband her son and many wonderful friends. Peggy had a loving family life and will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her. A Memorial Celebration will take place at 7:00 PM on Saturday August 23 2008 at Sumner on Ridgewood 970 Sumner Parkway Copley OH 44321 with Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Inurnment at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery 10175 Rawiga Rd. Rittman OH 44270 on Monday August 18 2008 at 11:30 AM with Rev. Eloy Pacheco officiating. Keep her family in your prayers.
