Paul Duncan

February 6, 1928 — October 31, 2018

Paul J. Duncan, age 90, passed away October 31st after a year-long battle with the reoccurrence of his Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. He was born in Horner, West Virginia to Samuel and Dovie Snow Pringle on February 6, 1928. Affectionately known as Pop-Pop to his daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends, he was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Italy during World War II. He was an active member of the American Legion Garfield Memorial Post 566. Up until this past year, Paul regularly attended the post supporting their dinners, reverse raffles and other events. Paul was a retired truck driver and was a member of Teamster Local 24. In his free time, he enjoyed watching or listening to the Cleveland Indians, keeping his lawn mowed, and driveway meticulous when it snowed. Paul is preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 59 years, Glenna Nesline Duncan; loving daughter June Duncan; infant great-grandson Declan Miller; three angel babies; and siblings Richard Hayes Duncan, Catherine Hall, Laura Cutright, Irene Burkhammer, and Marion 'Buck' Duncan. Paul leaves to cherish his memory daughters Janice (Larry) Miller, Judy Duncan, and Jona (Steve) Rohrs; his granddaughters, Tammy (Tigger) Miller-Keckler, Tracy (Keith) York, Brittany (Brett) Haught, and Julie (Kavaughn) Wheeler; his grandson Jeff (Jennifer) Miller; his great-grandchildren, Phillip Wallace III, Remington Keckler, Dylan Carmany, Gavin, Gabriella, Gianna, and Dominic Miller, Emily June Marie York, Sydney Wheeler, and Jarvis (Noelle) Garrett; great-great-grandson Grayson Garrett; siblings Wilma (Oley) Curtis, Rose (Tom) Aichele, Betty Burkhammer, Mildred (Ronnie) Rittenhouse, Pauline Riffle, Sylvia (Carl) Ables and William (Betty) Duncan all from West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. Words can't express the gratefulness our family wishes to extend to his hospice nurses Annie and Renee, aid Beth, massage therapist Lisa, and social worker Peter; and church friends Jean Garrett, Karen Babri and Pat Heit who provided such care, comfort, and compassion to Paul and our family during his illness. A special thank you to Pastor Francie Fischer for her spiritual support to Paul. At Paul's request, the family will not have any services. Cremation has taken place.
