Patricia J. Oldham, age 74, passed away on the 11th day of April, 2017. Pat was born on June 1, 1942 in Akron, Ohio to Joe and Mary Alice Conn, whom she dearly loved. Pat attended Cuyahoga Falls High School where she and her husband, William Oldham, graduated in 1960. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Akron in 1964. Pat taught math at Ennis Junior High School in Akron prior to the birth of her children. Pat also enjoyed working at Parkview/Latucci Racket Club in Stow, Ohio, for several years. Pat was an avid golfer and tennis player. She was the ladies golf club champion at Lake Forest Country Club for four consecutive years. She also won several club championships at Congress Lake Club, Parkview/Latucci Racket Club, and The Hudson Tennis Club. Pat served her community well. She was an officer at the Akron Women's City Club and Akron Witan, and was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Akron and First Congregational Church of Hudson. She was a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and served actively with the Akron Bar Association Auxiliary. She was active in the University of Akron Alumni Association and she was an ardent supporter of all Akron University athletics. Pat is survived by her husband of 53 years, William M. Oldham, their three children, daughters April Sockol and Susan Oldham, and son Joseph Oldham (Jennifer), and ten beautiful grandchildren whom she particularly loved and cherished: Charlie Sockol, Jack Sockol & Sammy Sockol, David Oldham Smith & Billy Oldham Smith, and Jordan Oldham, Molly Oldham, Lilly Oldham, Ainsley Jacquemain & Quinn Jacquemain. Pat is also survived by her brother Richard Conn of Kansas City, Missouri, cousin Jeanne Irey of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, sisters-in-law Karen Oldham and Nancy Oldham Seibert of Naples, Florida, and brother-in-law Robert Oldham of Akron, Ohio. Pat is already sorely missed by her family and friends. She was an outstanding mother, and the epitome of a classy lady who brought joy and happiness to everyone with whom she associated. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service in Pat's honor and a brief reception following will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 1:00 pm at the First Congregational Church located at 47 Aurora Street in Hudson. Donations in Pat's memory should be made to the University of Akron College of Education or to a favorite charity of the donor.
