Patricia Costigan

Patricia A. 'Pat' Costigan, 70, passed away on October 4, 2021, peacefully at home. Pat was born in Akron on November 8, 1950, to the late Mary Jo Costigan & William Costigan, Sr.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and sister-in-law Linda Costigan. Pat is survived by her four brothers: Bill (Barbara), Dick, Jim (Peggy), Jerry (Janis); aunt Ruth Stiles of Williamsburg, Va.; ten nieces and nephews; eleven great nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Pat graduated from Our Lady of the Elms High School and the University of Akron. She worked for several years in education before joining the family business, Costigan's Office Supply, where she worked for over 20 years. She enjoyed cultivating long-lasting relationships with clients throughout Akron and Northeast Ohio. A lifelong resident of Akron, Pat supported many local causes, including: Akron General Medical Center, West Akron Beautification, Akron Art Museum, and St. Vincent St. Mary High School.

Pat enjoyed many interests over the years. She was an avid reader, an admirer of impressionist art, and a fan of sending greeting cards for all occasions. She loved to travel and appreciated the history and culture of the places she visited. She held a special place in her heart for all animals, especially her beloved dog, Chummy. Most of all, she cherished her time with her nieces and nephews - they were her greatest joy. "Aunt Patty" was quick to delight in each of their successes, offering continuous support, encouragement, and love. She will be fondly remembered for her enthusiastic conversations, bright smile, quick wit, and contagious laughter. We take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved parents, whom she has missed dearly.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent Church. Interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Akron Children's Hospital or Our Lady of the Elms.
