Olive Virginia Graham passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at the Justin Rogers Hospice Care Center in Copley. She was 88 years old. Born to Paul and Cora Gorby in 1931, Olive spent her youth in Paonia, Colorado and Wheeling, West Virginia. She attended high school in Wheeling and married her husband, Garth, there in 1950. Moving to Akron “Ollie” worked as a server at some of Akron’s premier restaurants of the 1950’s and represented Fashion-Two-Twenty cosmetic products. Later she began domestic work and developed many lifelong friends in those she worked with for years. In 1958, she dedicated her life to service of Jehovah God, being baptized that year in New York City. She attended the Akron West and then Bath congregations faithfully for over 60 years until her health no longer allowed. Ollie loved to grow vegetables for the table and for canning. She loved to cook and to entertain and shared her skill and passion for the kitchen with so many over the years. She loved flowers and drew great pleasure from growing and sharing them. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Garth Graham, her sisters Lucille “Lou” Burtrand and Helen Hackathorn. She leaves behind her son Bruce and daughter in law Leanne Graham, dear nieces and nephews Brenda Rials, Lynn Turnbull, Marlene Proctor, Judy Dabney and Mark and David Burtrand. Of tremendous value to her was also the family she shared the past 30 years at the Bath Kingdom Hall. No brothers or sisters could ever be move supportive or loving. Friends may pay respects between 1p – 4p on Sunday, January 26th at Hummel Funeral Home in Copley, OH. Elder Marcel Gentile will offer a short service following the viewing. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers donations in her honor to the Western Reserve Masonic Home Memory Care Unit are very welcome. They provided Ollie with most compassionate and dignified care throught the last few years of her life.
