Olive Ashmore

Olive Mary Ashmore, born November 12, 1926 in Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent, England, passed away Thursday December 10, 2020. She was educated in a high school run by former suffragists. Olive worked in chemical testing laboratories during and after WWII. She became a primary school teacher in the 1960’s. Olive immigrated to the US in 1968 with her husband and children; home has been Akron ever since. Olive lived abroad in Jakarta, Indonesia and Melbourne, Australia from 1978-1984. She always loved to travel. Olive was preceded in death by her husband Jim in 2005. She is survived by half brother John (Anita) Williams of Cheddleton, England; son David (Susan) Ashmore of Princeton, NJ; daughter Elizabeth Ashmore of Princeton, NJ; granddaughters Kate (Sam) Zinler of Spokane, WA and Molly Ashmore of Brooklyn, NY.
