Norman Thomas Jesser ended a brave fight with cancer on June 29 2008 at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron 50 years and 24 days from his birth at the same hospital. Norman is survived by his wife of almost 20 years Lisa (Murdocco) Jesser and children Megan Norman Jr. and Nicole; his parents Thomas and Yvonne Jesser (nee Berbari); brothers Tom and John (Erin); sisters Elizabeth Shaffer (Tom) Jennifer Ringer (Randy) and; mother and father in law Vince and Josephine Murdocco sisters in law Tammy (Brian) MacEwan Margie (Rick) Antonasanti Rosie (Mark) Conti and brother in law Vince Murdocco; also many loving Aunts Uncles Nieces and Nephews. Norm was active in many organizations. He was a member of the The University of Akron Lone Star Fraternity the Polish American Club the Massillon Tiger Sideliners Hoban Booster Club Portage Lakes Sportsman's Club and past president of the Green Youth Football Club. Norm enjoyed over 30 years of a career associated with the restaurant business. At the age of 20 he was a manager at Jack Horner's restaurant in Akron. By 25 he opened Norm Jesser's Family Restaurant in Portage Lakes. For 20 years he was a manufacturer's representative in the commercial food service equipment industry. Since 2000 he was the Territory Sales Manager for Zink Marketing responsible for all sales related functions in northern Ohio. He was two times awarded 'Sales Manager of the Year' most recently in 2005. Norman (aka 'Stormin - Norman') lived life big~ he was a real outdoorsman and enjoyed boating fishing and hunting and was the biggest sports fan in the Akron area. He loved his wife and his family and could always be seen (and heard) at one of their sporting events or helping in their school's fundraising efforts. Norm touched so many lives. He will be remembered for his warmth generosity and hospitality. Norm's love for people and his community was evident to all the kind of person you just wanted to be around. Norm the oldest of five siblings was known as the 'big toe' of the family and will be forever missed! Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 AM Thursday July 3 2008 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church 1800 Steese Rd Uniontown. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral home 500 E. Exchange St on Wednesday July 2 2008 from 4-8 PM.
