GREEN- Nina E. March 'Baba' 80 passed away peacefully on Saturday October 5 2013 surrounded by her loved ones. Her passing is a result of injuries she sustained from a serious fall at her home. Nina was born on June 30 1933 in Lanark West Virginia to Maryanne (Kozan) and Charley Woicehovich. She was the youngest of eight children. She graduated from Mount Hope High School and as a young adult relocated to Akron Ohio and began working as a waitress at The Brown Derby. That's where she met and later married Edward March. During 44 years of marriage they raised seven children--initially in the Firestone Park area of Akron and later in the City of Green. In addition to being a homemaker Nina devoted nearly 25 years to the children of Green Local Schools as a lunch and playground aide. Nina was a member of Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church. She embraced her ethnic heritage and was a member of and served various organizations related to her love of Polish music foods and traditions. Nina was predeceased by her husband Edward in 2005 and her sisters Virginia Lucas Alice Kreptowski and Mary Malish brothers Michael and Joseph and goddaughter Juliann Kreptowski-DiMario. She is survived by her children Edward (Leslie) of Cape Coral Florida; Charles of Green Linda (Mark) Malachin of Green Nina (Dean) Biscan of Green Sharon (John) Wilczynski of Carmel Indiana Michelle (Joe) Kelling of Sheffield Village Ohio and Lorri of Green. Grandchildren Edward Joseph and Justin March Kristian Montgomery Charles Jr. and Eva Jo March Mark Jr. and Stephanie Malachin Dean Jr. (Erin) Kent and Luke Biscan Ella Wilczynski and Nicholas James and David Kelling. Great-grandchildren Charles III and Joel March sister Annie Welch of Cape Coral Florida and brother and sister-in-law Wilson and Ce Woicehovich of Akron sister-in-law Jennie Guzik of Sterling Heights Michigan brothers-in-law Frank March of Akron and John Kreptowski of Massillon and godsons Wilson Woicehovich Jr. and John Kreptowski Jr. She was loved and cherished by many other relatives and friends. She was an avid lover of Cadillacs (having proudly owned 16 during her lifetime) enjoyed cooking and was known for her canned peppers. Nina loved butterflies jewelry all shades of pink and anything that sparkled. Guests are invited to wear any of these items to honor Nina at her visitation and funeral. Mom enjoyed beautiful flowers and they will be gladly received. Mom lived with diabetes for 30 years and wished that not one more person would ever be afflicted with it. An alternative memorial option is the American Diabetes Association 4500 Rockside Rd. Suite 440 Independence OH 44131 or a donation in her name to Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church. The family will receive friends Monday Oct.7 and Tuesday Oct. 8 from 4-8 pm at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. where a parish wake service will be held Tuesday at 7:45 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday Oct. 9 at 9:30 am at Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church 2425 Myersville Rd. Akron where the family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
