Nathan Patrick Montler Age 23, of Copley, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, on Sunday, November 30, 2014. He was born on July 14,1991; attended St. Benedict Catholic School, Johnstown ,PA and was a 2010 graduate of Archbishop Hoban HS, Akron, OH, where he was a member of the Hoban Percussion Ensemble as well as a drummer for the Hoban Bagpipers. Nathan was a dean's list student at the University of Akron majoring in criminal justice. He was known for his pranks, his mischievous smile, and his love of laughter. He was a skilled huntsman and fisherman, an avid ocean kayaker, and made the most amazing fried rice. He loved any occasion to visit with his cousins, who were siblings to him. Nathan was a witty, sarcastic, sincerely caring young man who was loved deeply by his family and friends. Everyone who had the opportunity to know him will genuinely miss him. Survivors include his parents, Murphy and Patricia (McKeon) Montler; his godparents Robert and Susan Montler, his Grandmother Connie Montler, aunts and uncles, Leonard and Mary (McKeon) Burns, Christine McKeon, Katie McKeon, Robert and Susan Montler, Sheila (Montler) and Chris Rowan, Joseph and Mary Montler, Therese (Montler) and Tim Knob, Michael and Christine Montler; and cousins, Michael (Colleen) Burns, Patrick (Wendy) Burns, Tracey (Burns) and Jim Rachael, Tim (Tracy) Burns, Lee (Erin) Grady, Mathew Schmid, Laura (Schmid) Forshey, James McKeon, Joshua (Danielle) Montler, Maria (Kelly) Reed, Melissa (CJ) Rudy, Jess, Abigail,and Andrew Montler, Timothy (Meghann) Knob, Thomas Knob, Kayle Knob, Sean, Jaedyn, Scott Montler, Kelsey Rodgers and Great Uncle Tom Murphy. Preceded in death by Grandparents Wilfred and Rosemary Montler, James and Eloise McKeon, Uncles James and John McKeon, Thomas Montler, Aunt Debbie Montler, cousin Matthew McKeon. Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 3rd at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd., Copley, OH from 4-7, and Thursday December 4th at Stevens Mortuary, 1421 8th Ave., in Altoona, Pa from 4-7. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday December 5th, at 10:30 AM, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 5514 Roselawn Ave., Altoona, PA, with Reverend Nathan Munsch OSB (cousin of deceased) as celebrant.
