Nancy Marie Hohman (Lazzaro) joined our Lord and Savior on November 12, 2018. She was born on March 20, 1929 in Medina, Ohio. She was the youngest of her family, and is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Leone Lazzaro, Brothers Charles (Mildred,) Lazzaro, Leo (Agnes) Lazzaro, and Frankie Lazzaro; Sisters Carmela (Wally) Essig, Rosalie (Aaron) Decker and Mary Lozier. Nancy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Maurice Hohman; daughter Diane (Randy) Bowers, daughter Janice (Mark) Jatich and son Donald (Julie) Hohman; grandchildren Angela (Josh)Whitman, Ashlee (Michael) Rickman, Aubry (Adam) Knight, Austin (Chelsea) Bowers; Adam (Miranda) Jatich, Daniel Jatich; Dominic (Rachael) Hohman and Molly (Tim) Moneypenny; Great grandchildren Landen and Lawson Whitman, Rhyce, Maci and Jax Rickman, Sophia and Aiden Bowers, Calvin Knight, Max and Owen Jatich, and Lena Hohman; and brother in law Bob Lozier Sr; many beloved nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Nancy devoted her life to her family, forgoing her career to stay home and raise her children. She previously worked at Ornamental Iron in Akron, Ohio before her marriage to Maurice on October 2, 1954 at St. Sebastian's Church in Akron, Ohio. They made their first home in Akron, built their dream home in Copley and lived their golden years together in Green, Ohio. Everything she did - from her Italian cooking, making jam, golfing, family gatherings - was spent doing things for others. She was known by many names which included 'Sweetheart, Mom, Momma, Meemaw, Grandma, Aunt Nancy and Meemee'. She was a devout Catholic and attended Queen of Heaven Church in Green. She was all of her families' cheerleader, prayer warrior and example of how to lead a Christian life. She was very much loved and spent her final days surrounded by those she loved. Special thanks to the staff at Green Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and floor 8100 at Akron General Medical Center/Cleveland Clinic for the exceptional and compassionate care given to Nancy in the last weeks of her life on this earth - We also thank our many family members and friends for the words of encouragement and all the other forms of support we have received when we needed it most. The family will receive friends Friday, November 16, 2018, 4-7 pm at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St., Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018, 12:00 pm at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd., Green. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
