After a long and courageous battle with old age Mom walked ran and joyfully danced into heaven's gates on October 14 2010. Born to Myrtle and Drayton Hurlbut 96 years ago she lived her life dedicated to her family and friends with whom she shared her unique brand of humor. Organizing Heaven's ultimate family 'get together' are her Mom and Pop; sisters Doodsie Nornie and Emily; husband Harold; grandson Nathan; and brother-in-laws Curtis Bill Andy and Jimmy. Left to ponder the repercussions of her accession are her devoted children Tim Wright Chris Wright-Penov; dedicated son-in-law Bill Penov (who lovingly thinks it may be premature to decide the direction of Mom's final destination); grandchildren Hannah Wright Justin and Abigail Penov; great grandson Sam Wright; sister Edie; nieces nephews and special friends Ann Charlotte Fannie Geri Irene Mary Jean and Lou. Mom was an inspiringly independent woman who survived life's joys and sorrows with more than her share of hard work and laughter. She carried her love for her Kipawa cabin with her always. She returned to college late in life sewed clothes 'without a pattern' survived the depression and 5 lively sisters awaited a husband serving in WWII with the Sea Bees - all with the courage and pluck of 10 women. She was most proud of her tenure as a librarian for the Akron Public School System and of her association with St. Andrews Episcopal Church and Faith Lutheran Church. She appreciated the love and friendship of Pastor Jean Hansen even though Pastor Jean couldn't answer her one insistent question of why God's invitation was taking so danged long! Mom will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A very special thanks to Tammy Mary Karen Tess and all the wonderful people Mom met through Hospice Care. At Mom's request cremation has taken place. Pastor Jean Hansen will conduct a Memorial Service and celebration of Mollie's life at Faith Lutheran Church on Thursday October 28 at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Hospice of VNS 3558 Ridgewood Rd Akron OH 44333 and Faith Lutheran Church 2726 W. Market St Akron OH 44333 in the name of 'Miss Mollie' Wright.
