Mildred Walzer 87 of Akron died November 6 2005. Mildred was born on September 18 1918 in Brooklyn N.Y. the daughter of Mary Hudson Clark and Clifford S. Clark. Mildred earned a degree in Business Administration at the University of Akron and was employed by the B.F. Goodrich Company as an executive secretary until her retirement in 1975. Mildred married William A. Walzer in 1957. After their retirement they enjoyed traveling throughout Europe China Japan South America Central America Canada most of the Caribbean Islands as well as many areas in the United States including Hawaii Alaska and Puerto Rico. Mildred volunteered for many years in the American Red Cross Bloodmobile Program. She was also a volunteer and member of the Women's Auziliary Board of Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. For many years she was a member of the Stan Hywet Needlework Guild including one term as president. Recently she joined the St. Sebastian Little Flower Garden Club. Mildred was preceded in death by her beloved husband William 'Bill' and by her parents. She is survived by seven cousins including Hank Hudson; sister-in-law Jane Zachardy twelve nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday November 10 2005 10:00 AM at St. Sebastian Catholic Church 476 Mull Ave. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron on Wednesday November 9 2005 from 4:00-7:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to St. Sebastian Church or the University of Akron.
