Mildred Bach

December 4, 1921 — November 2, 2009

Millie Bach 87 died on Nov. 2 in Huntington Beach Calif. She was born in Gillespie Ill. and was proud to be a college graduate wife mother and grandmother. She called Copley home for over 60 years. Millie was an avid sports fan never missing a single Indians game. TVs in two states will be dark without the perennial sports game -Browns Buckeyes Angels Galaxy-flickering on the screen. Millie refused to become an 'old' person. She enjoyed camping and boating at Salt Fork made Buckeye beads and rode the occasional dirt bike on the beach. She loved a good cup of coffee the infrequent margarita and being treated like a queen. She would tell you that she still had grandchildren to raise. Millie encouraged each 'kid' to work hard at whatever they did often including stories of her own jobs especially those of her 10 years as secretary at Copley United Methodist Church. Millie was tremendously proud of her family and especially of those who served in the military: her husband (WWII) her son (Vietnam) and two grandchildren (Active Duty Army and Ohio Army National Guard). Millie always said that she was blessed to be able to split her year between her two homes in Ohio and California with stops in Florida and Virginia. She was so appreciative of having the opportunity to visit her family all over the country. Millie was met in heaven by her husband Bud who she had been waiting to see again since 1977. She was also met by her parents sisters brother and all the friends who preceded her. Left to cherish her legacy are children John (Linda) Mary Jane (Scott) Martha (Bob) and Marci (Howie) and many dear friends especially Velma Boss and Grace Flemm. Thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren will miss their Grammie and Grandma very much. A seventh great-grandchild one Millie was looking forward to 'raising' is due in April. A re-birthday party is planned on Friday December 4 at Copley United Methodist Church in honor of what would have been Millie's 88th. Friends are asked to gather at the church at 10am for a meet and greet. The celebration service begins at 11am with a luncheon immediately following.
