Mick (Mickey) Stevenson passed away on Sunday February 12th at 1:00 am at age 34. Mick's life was claimed in an automobile accident in Junction City Colorado where he had recently settled. He was a member of the Colorado Pipe Laying Guild enjoyed numerous outdoor activities as well as the quiet beauty of his surroundings and had a rich social life in Junction City. He was born in Akron Ohio where he spent most of his life close to his large family. He is survived by his daughter Brooke Nagel his mother and father Susan and Joseph Rauh his sister Josephine Rauh grandmother Ann Rauh and by his many LaVoie and Rauh aunts uncles cousins and extended family. Growing up he was an intelligent artistically talented independent unique and capable boy leading many adventures for his younger cousins and his tight group of friends. Though he had a calm and cool demeanor Mick was never boring and loved boxing ping pong dirt bike riding and deep talks by the bonfire. He graduated from Firestone Highschool and attended the University of Akron where he studied computer science and mechanical engineering and later went on to have his own construction and renovation business as well as work for his family's polymer company. He had a depth of experience in his life that included many interesting jobs travel and scuba diving adventures a meditative period alone in nature great challenges overcome and dreams pursued. However it was fatherhood that brought him his life's joy and his greatest pride was his daughter Brooke. Mick had a place in his heart for all of his many friends and family and still had room for his love for his cats sci-fi and fantasy books antique swords ramen noodles and doing anything and everything with a reverence for detail. In his own words 'I'm the most versatile man in existence. They broke the mold when I was made. I dare you to find someone like me'. Anyone who knew him would agree and would have been touched by his kindness and willingness to be of service. Those who were lucky enough to know him well knew that this gentle compassionate and artistic soul would do anything for a loved one. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. A Memorial Mass will take place at 9:30 AM on Saturday February 18 2012 at St. Vincent Church 164 W. Market St Akron.
