Michael J. Sovacool, 60, of Barberton, passed away unexpectedly on October the 5th, 2014. He was loved and will be greatly missed by Sue, his wife of 39 years, his children Meridith (Brian) Anders, Sarah (Josh) Wintermute and Michael (Jessica) Sovacool as well as his brother Timothy (Marcy) Sovacool and their children. He was also 'Papoo' to Emmersyn, Madelyn and Henry. Mike was first and foremost a family man who was happiest at the family lake house on Catawba Island. While there, he enjoyed fishing, boating and relaxing at 'The Cove' with a solo cup in one hand while waiving to passing boats with the other. Mike's fishing buddy and brother in law, Chad, spent most weekends scouring the western basin of Lake Erie for perch and walleye. Although they had a lot of stories to share, most times they didn't involve fish. Mike was preceded in death by his father, John and mother Catherine as well as his brother Mark (Bear). Survivors include brother Timothy and sister in law Marcy along with their three children Tim (Michelle), Katie (Ryan) and John (Meghan). Mike also has numerous brother and sister in laws including Chuck, Donna and their children, Chad, Chris, Cathy and their children, Karen, Bob and their boys, and Mariann, Dwayne and their two boys. Wednesdays were basketball night at Prince of Peace with life-long friends that always ended at the Slovene. Mike was the owner of M&S Plumbing and Remodeling for twenty-five years where he meticulously handled any issues thrown at him. He loved to say he was 'heading to work to lay down on the job.' Mike carried these skills over into his home life and always had a project going on. There wasn't an area in any of his family's homes he didn't touch. Mike's devotion to his wife and his immense love for his children and grandchildren are what truly made him a great man. We will love him for eternity. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Calling hours will be held Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton.
