"Big Mike," age 39, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 7, 2021. A lifelong resident of Akron, he graduated from St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in 2000. He was a gentle giant, loved by all, with an infectious laugh and smile. He had a huge heart and gave the best hugs ever. He was artistically talented, enjoying painting, carving, and playing guitar. He was an excellent cook, and friends and family looked forward to his culinary creations. He was a wonderful father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend and will be sadly missed by all.
Michael is survived by his son, Parker Riccardi (along with Parker's mother Amanda Garcia); mother Marjorie (Jeffery) Parrish; sister Mary Kay Wyatt; stepmother Christina Riccardi; stepbrothers Lance Parrish and Jamie (Heather) Pishney; stepsister Kelly Pishney (Jimmy Wilson); nieces Millie Wyatt, Winnie Parrish, and Chloe and Talla Pishney; nephews Elliot Wyatt, Liam and Nolan Parrish, and Jameson Pishney.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Riccardi; grandparents, David and Eleanor Reiheld and Frank and Mildred Riccardi; and beloved dog, Sparrow.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2021, at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St., Akron, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, at St. Sebastian Church, 476 Mull Ave., Akron, OH. Private burial to take place at a later date. For those unable to attend, Mass will be live streamed at YouTube.com/StSebastianParish.
