Michael Crist

Michael "Mike" Crist, 96, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 12, 2022. He was born in Brasov, Romania on October 16, 1925 to Victor and Elena Cristoloveanu, and lived with his three brothers, Victor, Nicholas, and George. Mike came to the United States in 1949, where he met Betty Jean (BJ), the love of his life for over 65 years. After a successful career as a buyer for O'Neil's and May Company, he retired to spend more time sharing jokes and laughter with friends and family.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife, BJ; his four children - Michele (Jon) Darwal, Mark (Michele) Crist, Scott Crist and Suzanne (Russ) Ensign; grandchildren, Michael (Kaitlin) Darwal, Sara (Micah) Hatton, and Matthew Crist; great grandchildren Bo and Joie Darwal; and his wife's extended family.

He was a dedicated, loving father and grandfather who loved spending time with family, traveling the world, vacationing at the beach and playing cards. Mike was known for his quick wit, his sweet tooth and the years he played Santa Claus for family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Funeral Service will be 1:00pm Friday, March 18, at the Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd. Copley, Ohio 44321, where friends may call from 11:00am- 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Granger Fairview Cemetery.
