Mary Ellen Paulus

Mary Ellen Paulus, age 87, passed away on August 25, 2022. She was born on January 21, 1935 in Akron to the late Francis and Helen Paulus. Mary Ellen was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Kent State University. She spent the beginning of her career as a Dominican Order nun as a teacher and social worker. Mary Ellen provided outreach ministry across the country. She then retired in Virginia and came back to Akron. She resided at Francesca Residence and then the Village of St. Edwards at Green. Mary Ellen enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader.
Preceded in death by her sister, Carol Keith and brother-in-law, David Henry; she is survived by siblings, Tom (Jean) Paulus, Joni Mills and Donna Henry and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30am Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church (1580 Brown St. Akron), where friends may call from 10:30am until mass time. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Randolph. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Francesca Residence 39 North Portage Path Akron, Ohio 44303.
