Mary Windle

Mary Ellen (Helen) Windle 86 died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday March 27 2004. Born in Akron on April 6 1917 she was married to Robert B. Windle in 1946. She and her family lived in the Tallmadge area most of her life. She retired from the Kroger Company after many years of service. She was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and especially enjoyed her family and her flowers. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years Robert as well as her parents Nicholas and Mary Kalavity and brothers William Gustav and Andrew. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Robert and Sherry Windle of Boynton Beach Florida and son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Sandra Windle of North Canton Ohio. She is also survived by two sisters and three brothers Regina (Frank) Chema of Tallmadge Theodora Rathbun of Cuyahoga Falls Jerry Kalavity of Broomfield Colorado James (Shirley) Kalavity of Akron and Louis (Karen) Kalavity of Fairlawn. Mary also enjoyed 8 grandchildren Norman Robert Jeffrey Jeremy Wendy Jared Holly and James as well as 2 great-grandchildren Sara and Haley. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday March 30 2004 at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron Ohio 44304. Interment will be at the East Akron Cemetery immediately following the service. Calling hours will be Monday 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church 129 S. Union Street Akron OH 44304.
