Mary Ellen Trockle

Mary Ellen Trockle, 95, passed away on July 16, 2023.

She was born February 23, 1928 in Akron and graduated from St. Vincent's Grade School and High School. She attended the University of Akron and worked at Ohio Edison. She married Robert Trockle in 1952 and enjoyed 60 years of marriage until his death in 2013. Together they enjoyed traveling, especially taking family trips to Ocean City.

She was an active member of St. Sebastian Church for years, volunteering at both the school and church. But mostly, Mary Ellen was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed.

She was proceeded in death by her husband; Robert Trockle, parents; Carl and Zita (Helbling) Stephens, sister; Jeanne (Richard) Anderson, sisters-in-law Rosemary (Gene) Rowland and Margaret (Raymond) Buehrle.

She leaves behind daughter; Elizabeth (William) Pfeiffer, grandchildren; Meghan (Timothy) Effinger, Robert (Megan) and Timothy (Melissa) Pfeiffer, great grandchildren; Lucas, Brendan, Rylee, Andrew, Emma and Jane.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents of St. Luke's Assisted Living for their care and friendship. Thanks to Elara Caring Hospice for their comfort and support. Also, thanks to St. Francis de Sales Church, especially lay minister John Duckworth who became a good friend.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday July 21 at 11:00 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church located at 4019 Manchester Rd. in Akron . The family will receive friends and family at the church an hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Francis de Sales' St. Vincent de Paul Society.
