Mary Seiler

Mary Evelyn Seiler, age 94, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born in Akron, Ohio to Harold Mackey and Helen Losch. Mary married Peter Seiler and he preceded her in death.

Along with her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Harold Mackey and Joseph Mackey; children, Patricia Anne Anderson and Edward Patrick Marsh; her two grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Stokes and Charles William Stokes.

Mary is survived by her beloved brother Lawrence (Vickie) Mackey; children, Colleen Theresa Stokes, Kevin Michael Marsh, Joseph Vincent Marsh, Kathleen Marie (Brett) Stilwell, Thomas Lee (Larese) O'Neil, and Lawrence Thomas (Kelly) O'Neil; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary lived a long productive life. She loved family gatherings, holidays and time spent with grandchildren. Mary worked 30 years as a housekeeper at various places of employment. She took great pride in her final years of service at Akron General Medical Center where she was employed for over 20 years.

Mary was well respected and loved by many. She had a great sense of humor and a strong will. She took great pride in maintaining a tidy house, a beautiful yard and hot cooked meals for any visitor who might walk through her door.

Mary loved animals specifically her two dogs, Carrie and Louis. In her later years, Mary could be found on Sunday afternoons with Louis perched on her lap watching the Cleveland Browns or Pittsburgh Steelers.

Her life was spent providing comfort, care and love to those around her. She will be greatly missed but forever remembered.

A visitation will be from 4 to 5 PM on Monday, May 1, 2023, at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 East Exchange Street, Akron. Her son-in-law, Pastor Brett Stilwell, will officiate a memorial service beginning at 5:00 PM on Monday, May 1st at the funeral home.
