Mary Schafer

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTEMary Kay (Podrasky) Schafer 78 of Akron died August 27 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years James; brother John Podrasky; sisters Helen Durgala and Wilma Watts. Mary is survived by children and spouses James (Sherry) Schafer Susan (Ken) Jones Michael (Nancy Marie) Schafer Nancy Schafer Mary Frederick and Irene Conley; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother Michael (Lillian) Podrasky; and sister Madelyn (Richard) Grill. Mary was a 1949 East High graduate. As a homemaker she raised 6 children and loved nothing more than spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her holiday planning and baking. We will all miss her tremendously but it comforts us to know that she and dad are dancing together again. The family would like to thank the staff at Summit Villa Care for their loving care. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Monday August 31 2009 at Annunciation Catholic Church 87 Broad Street Akron 44305. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
