Mary Raines

Mary K. Raines, age 88, passed away on September 12, 2016. She was a longtime member of the Kingdom Hall where she became very close to the members of the congregation. She was a faithful wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Preceded in death by her parents, David and Ida Richards; sisters, Thelma and Naomi; brother, Bill and grandson, Eric; she is survived by her husband of 68 years, James; children, J.B. (Carmen), Michael (Elaine) and Debbie Garrison; 10 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, including special nephews, Robert and Richard Drake; brothers, Emmit (Bernice) Richards and Jennings Richards; and brother-in-law, Phillip (Goldie) Raines. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Summa in home care for all of their care and support. Funeral service will be 6:00 pm Thursday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St. Akron, Ohio, where friends may call from 4:00 pm until service time. Interment will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Friday at 10:45 am, procession to form at the funeral home starting at 9:45 am.
