Mary Gallagher

Mary Catherine Gallagher (nee McCarthy) 65 of Akron passed away peacefully on August 23 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Capt. John McCarthy; and her beloved dog Missy. Mary Catherine is survived by her daughter Cathleen (Habib) Tannir and their children Aminah Farook and Hadeeya; her son Michael (Parisa) Gallagher their children John Michael and Natasha Allen; brothers John (Darice) McCarthy and Daniel (Amy) McCarthy; and sister Elizabeth (Dick) Blasucci; nephews Matthew Anthony and Jack; niece Maria; and many friends and family. Our mom selflessly dedicated her life to the care of the elderly. She began her nursing career in Akron at Rockynol Retirement Community eventually becoming involved in marketing for Rockynol which led to her career as marketing director at both Sunrise Assisted Living and Sumner on Ridgewood. Besides the joy and satisfaction that our mom obtained from her career she took great pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren. The love and laughter she experienced with them was unparalleled. They were truly her heart. A Memorial Mass will take place at 9:30 AM on Monday August 27 2012 at St. Hilary Catholic Church 2750 W.
