Mary Jane Finley-Camp, 78, of Akron passed away Thursday November 3, 2016. Born in Akron, Mary Jane graduated from Our Lady of the Elms in 1956, and graduated from Kent State University in 1961 with her degree in Early Childhood Education. She retired from the Akron Public Schools in 1993 with 30 years service. Over the years she also taught in the Copley Schools and the Colorado Springs (CO) School Systems. Mary Jane worked as a Red Cross recreation worker at the Walter Reed Army Hospital for 2 years. She was a member of the Junior League, Akron Woman's City Club and Alpha Pi. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond J. and Eleanor W. Finley; sister Susan Tedstrom; husband, Dr. Frederick L. Camp. She is survived by son, Gary C. Dillon; grandson, Zachary Dillon; brother-in-law, Milo (Lee) Tedstrom; nephews, Peter, John (Carrie), and Eric (Landra) Tedstrom, and numerous great-nephews, great-nieces and many friends. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 12 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church, 476 Mull Ave., Akron, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service Interment in Rose Hill Burial Park.
