Sister Mary Fath the former Sister M. Dennis died at the age of 90 on Sunday December 21 2003 at Regina Health Center. She was in her 70th year of religious profession. Sister Mary entered the Sisters of St. Dominic from St. Peter Parish Cleveland in 1931. She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Fath. She spent nearly 60 years in the ministry of education in the Cleveland and Youngstown dioceses. In the Cleveland Diocese she taught at St. Vincent (1939-45) and St. Paul (1965-69) in Akron. From 1945-57 Sister was Administrator of Our Lady of the Elms Preschool and again from 1973-77. She also taught at St. Hilary (1969-73) in Fairlawn. Within the Youngstown Diocese she served as teacher at St. Dominic Youngstown (1935-39). She was the founding principal of Regina Coeli School Alliance (1957-62) and of St. Joseph Mantua (1962-65). From 1977-93 Sister taught math and computer science at Immaculate Conception School Ravenna. Because of health Sister retired to the Elms Motherhouse. In January 2003 she was transferred to Regina Health Center Richfield. Sister Mary was a history buff and enjoyed doing history research. She loved to travel visit museums and especially enjoyed gardening and ethnic cooking. Sister is survived by one sister Catherine Javorek Cleveland and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are at Our Lady of the Elms Convent 1230 W. Market St. Akron on Tuesday December 23 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Wake Service at 4:00. Mass of Christian Burial is on Wednesday December 24 at 10:00 a.m. in the Convent Chapel. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Lady of the Elms School-Sisters of St. Dominic Foundation.
