Mary Alice Corley (Washam), age 54, was welcomed with a warm embrace by her Lord and Savior on November 28, 2015 after a brief but courageous battle with renal cancer. Raised in Lisbon, Ohio Mary Alice graduated from David Anderson High School in 1979 and from Kent State University School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1983. She enjoyed working as a visiting nurse with the Aultman Visiting Nurse Association in Canton, Ohio. Mary Alice lived a life that was filled with the fruits of the spirit. She was a dedicated and compassionate care giver. She enjoyed making and giving gifts, cooking, and providing meals to others. She enjoyed travelling and spending time with her family. She was an organ donor and even upon death gave the gift of sight. Mary Alice was a member of Grace Church, was actively involved in her small group, and provided child care for young families as a nursery attendant. Mary Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence Stephen Corley, his parents, her parents, and an infant brother. Mary Alice will be greatly missed by her daughters, Kathleen (Katie) Corley and Clarice Corley of their home in Akron, Ohio, her brother and sister in law, Scott and Mary Kay Washam of Salem, Ohio, by her nephew and his wife, Ryan and Sara Corley of Akron, Ohio, her niece Molly Corley, their families, and by numerous other relatives, friends, and her co-workers at the Aultman Visiting Nurse Association. A celebration of the life of Mary Alice Corley will be held starting at 10:00 a.m. on December 5, 2015 at Grace Church, Bath Campus, 754 Ghent Road, Fairlawn, Ohio 44333.
