Mary Brownfield

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Daughter sister wife mother grandmother and great-grandmother-and loved by all Mary Jo (Molly) Brownfield (Amer) passed away Sunday June 19th after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family. Born in Akron Ohio on November 25th 1917 she was married to Robert Brownfield in 1941. A lifelong member of St. Vincent Parish she graduated from St. Vincent High School in 1935 and attended the University of Akron where she was a member of the Sigma Chapter of Theta Phi Alpha Sorority. Mary Jo was a generous and dedicated volunteer. She served on the St. Thomas Hospital Women's Board and participated in a variety of activities at St. Vincent's. Mary Jo was a woman of service and spent her life caring for others. Molly was an avid bridge player voracious reader golfer and sports fan. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert and her brother Tom Amer. Survived by her children: Sandra Donovan (Michael E.) of Massachusetts Christine Fulton (Frank Lehner) of Stow Robert Jr. (Joan) of Akron Patience Graf (Robert) of Illinois William (Kathy) of Stow Betsy Pitkin (David) of North Carolina Barbara Malo of Massachusetts and Stephen (Francine Terry) of Medina; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brothers Louis and Al Amer; sisters Helen Seib and Barbara Walter. Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday June 23 2005 10:00 AM at St. Vincent Catholic Church 164 W. Market Street. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 East Exchange St. on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent's Church or St. Thomas Hospital Women's Board.
