Mary Breit

Mary Breit (nee Hummel) 94 passed away February 10 2010 at Hospice Care Center. She was born on May 17 1915 in Akron OH. She lived most of her life in Copley where she was a member of the Guardian Angels Church choir. Mary was a 1933 graduate of Our Lady of the Elms and attended Akron University. She worked at the Firestone Government Labs as their librarian. She retired from the McNeil Machine Company. Those of us who knew her would say she was a 'dear dear lady ' who was a most gracious hostess. She loved to ice skate dance at the Liedertafel and tend to her rose garden. Being fond of people she had a smile for everyone especially children and dogs. She will be remembered for her kind sweet nature. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Frank Breit and her sister Elizabeth Mary Hummel. She is survived by her step-son F. Daniel (Annette) Breit of Stow; grandchildren Dan (Karen) Breit of Cincinnati OH Wendy (Clare) Thomas of Columbus OH Allison (Steve) Smith of Cincinnati OH; great grandchildren Grant Breit Will Breit Emily Thomas Hannah Thomas Isabelle Thomas and Hazel Smith. The family wishes to thank her devoted loving caregiver Norma Benton and The Garden of Western Reserve where she resided for the last four years. Mass of Christian Burial Monday February 15 2010 10:00 AM at Guardian Angels Catholic Church 1686 S. Cleveland Massillon Rd. Entombment in Rose Hill Burial Park.
