Mary Antal

Born in Akron on April 9, 1938 to the late Leo and Mildred Schiebilla, Mary Jo had been a lifetime area resident. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked on the oncology ward at Barberton Citizens' Hospital for 19 years. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years Joe, and her sisters Teresa Salmons and Valerie Stewart. She is survived by her son Joe, and daughters Denise (Del) Griggs, and Kara (Jim) Docs, along with grandchildren William, Kristen, Rachel, Carter, Ethan, and Ben. She is also survived by special friends Faye Fisher, Carol Murdoch, Carol Somerick, Carol Marquinez, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of the Rockynol Rehab Facility for their love and care over the last month. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 East Exchange Street, Akron, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Internment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Paul Catholic Church, Akron, Ohio or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
