Mary Altier

Mary Wilma Altier was born in Youngstown and was the daughter of Joseph M. and Wilma (Fitch) Donnelly. She passed away Nov. 20. Mary Wilma was a graduate of Youngstown College and The University of Akron, earning a Masters Degree in Chemistry and a Law Degree. She was a Chemistry teacher at Cuyahoga Falls High School for over 30 years and was very proud of the many students she taught. Besides her parents, Mary Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent whom she married August 25, 1951 and who passed away July 11, 2007; brothers, Gerald (Trudie) Donnelly and Paul (Marie) Donnelly; sister Joan (Joe) Welsh; son-in-law Ernest Fournier; and in-laws Mary Pat Donnelly; John (Marie) Altier; and Amato (Mary) Altier. She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Kathleen Altier; and Sharon (Ernest) Fournier; sons, Joseph (Reenie); James; and Stephen (Diane); brother, Edward C. Donnelly; sister-in-law Eleanor(Fred) Fiorito; grandchildren, Kathy Clark, Vince Altier, Paul Ravenscraft, Jenny Knott, Mike Altier, Dave Altier, Justin Fournier, Rich Fournier, Patrick Altier and Stephanie Altier; great grandchildren, Andrew, Steven, Jackson, Jordan and Josey Fournier; Skyann Clark; Isabella and Andre Joseph Knott; along with many nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, Nov. 25 at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St, Akron, OH 44304. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Nov. 26 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary Wilma's name to the American Heart Association.
