Martha L. Addison, age 87, died peacefully on February 13, 2018, at Ohio Living Rockynol Assisted Living, in the presence of her loving daughters. Martha was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, on October 29, 1930, to Miles and Fern Robison and grew up in Maumee, Ohio. Besides her four daughters and seven grandsons, Martha was most proud of her education. She attended Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts, on full academic scholarship, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1952. A long time resident of Akron, Martha volunteered at multiple organizations, including the Children's Home, St. Thomas Hospital and WITAN. She enjoyed reading, gardening, music, playing piano, knitting, tennis and skiing. She was an avid card player and continued winning even up until the end. Martha is survived by her brother, Jerome Robison, and his wife, Jan, her sister, Virginia Kinney; her daughters, Julie (and Oliver) Bakke, Jenny (and Bill) Hall, Jean Goldstein, Jody (and Scott) Shafer; her seven grandsons, Will (and Kaelin) Hall, James Bakke, Andrew (and Erin) Bakke, Sam Goldstein, Scott Goldstein, Jack Hall, and Ted Hall, and five nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Ohio Living Rockynol and Hospice for their loving care during the end of Martha's life and Julie DiPiersi, her private caregiver and friend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 16, at 10:00 am in the chapel at Ohio Living Rockynol, 1150 W. Market Street, 44313. Martha will be put to rest on Saturday, February 17, at a private burial in her family plot in St. Rose Cemetery, Perrysburg, Ohio.
