Marta Recek

Marta (Horvat) Recek passed away peacefully Saturday December 8, 2018 at the age of 83 in her home from lymphoma surrounded by her loved ones. She was born November 7, 1935 in Turnisce, Slovenia to parents Ana Lebar and Stefan Horvat, along with her siblings Ivan, Toncka, Stefan and Katica. Marta will be affectionately remembered by her loving husband of 61 years, Josef. Marta will also be lovingly remembered by her four children, Joseph Recek (Barbara), Hilda (Mike) Derzsy, Marie Anna (Mike) Bajc, and Steve (Shawn) Recek, along with her 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Marta will also be remembered by her nieces and nephews and her extended family. Marta is predeceased in death by her parents, Ana and Stefan Horvat, as well as her younger brother, Stefan Horvat. In her spare time, she took pleasure in cooking, baking and gardening. She was a green thumb who enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Her doting husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life and she enjoyed spending time with them and taking part in anything they were involved in. The Recek family will have a private memorial service for Marta at a later date.
