Marlene Davis

Marlene Davis age 74 of Akron passed away peacefully on April 28 2012 after a yearlong battle with cancer. She was born on August 16 1937 to the late Mike and Julia Bodnar in Barberton. Marlene was a lifelong resident of Portage Lakes. Marlene was known for always having a smile on her face and for putting the care of others before herself. She was a truly loving mother grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children Sharon (Jim) Misanko Sandra (Mark) Bulgrin and Jim (Wendy) Davis; grandchildren Eric and Matthew Misanko Phillip Timothy and David Bulgrin and Elizabeth Davis; great grandchildren Jocelyn and Adele Misanko and Brynn Bulgrin; and brother Michael (Gwendolyn) Bodnar. Marlene is preceded in death by her husband Jim and her brother and sister (Jerry and Louise). The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at VNS Hospice of Fairlawn. Visitation will be Mondy April 30 2012 from 4- 8 PM at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron. Mass of Christian burial will follow on Tuesday May 1 2012 10 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church 4019 Manchester Rd. Akron 44319.
