Mark Albert Rasicci, 87 passed away on August 13, 2017, at the Hospice Care Center on Ridgewood Road with his family by his side. He was born on April 27, 1930, and was a life-long resident of Akron, Ohio. He graduated from St. Mary's High School, received his BS in Education from the University of Akron, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, and received his Masters in Education from Kent State University. He taught at Firestone Park Elementary School for 32 years. After his retirement, he divided his time between Akron and Fort Myers, Florida where he enjoyed the sun and warm weather. His love of music led to his avocation playing with the Bob Cole, Gene Fiocca, Larry Lopeman and Dick Roop bands. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marco and Annie (Ciccolini) Rasicci and his first wife, Jean (Phipps). He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Scott) of 56 years; sons: Mark Richard of Akron, Joseph Charles of Aspen, Colorado, David Scott of Akron; daughter, Diane (Rich) Wendelken of Akron; grandsons, Scott and Matthew Wendelken; sisters, Emma Palumbo and Marianne Kaiser and many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place and the family will receive guests on Wednesday, August 16 from 5-7pm, at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St. Akron, Ohio 44304. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Thursday, August 17, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 164 W. Market St. Akron, Ohio 44303.
