Mark Mitchell

Mark A. Mitchell, 66, of Copley, passed away surrounded by love on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. A cherished husband, father of four, and grandfather of five, Mark was well-loved by his family and his community.

Mark was born in Aurora, Illinois on June 4, 1956. He graduated from Copley High School in 1974 and has been a proud resident of Copley. He was honored to serve the Copley Township Community for 22 years. Mark was instrumental in many township initiatives including the placement of the Receiving Vault into the National Register of Historic Places at the Copley Township Cemetery in 2017.

"Measure twice, cut once," Mark's philosophy was to always have a plan, know where you're going, and to check the menu first.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Helen Mitchell, brother Curtis Mitchell, aunt Ruth Anderson, father-in-law Robert Frazier, and grandson Marco Cuadra Jr. Mark is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Sue Mitchell, daughters Stacy (Brent) Combest, Lindsey (Matthew Becker) Mitchell-Becker, Kathleen Mitchell, and Christina Mitchell (Marco Cuadra); grandchildren Autumn Combest, Jack Combest, Avery Cuadra, and grandbaby-to-be; sister Jeanine (Jim) Graves; and mother-in-law Kathleen Frazier. Mark will be missed by his extensive, loving family that includes in-laws, nieces and nephews, and close friends.

His Celebration of Life will be held at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Road COPLEY on Tuesday April, 18, 2023 from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Exceptional Equestrians, 1130 Orlando Drive, De Pere, Wisconsin 54115 on behalf of Mark's nephew, Charlie Cheslock.
