Mark Lynn Hornyak, a beloved artist and business owner, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2023, at the age of 75. He was born on September 30, 1947, in Barberton, OH to his loving parents Mike and Martha Hornyak, who preceded him in death. Mark was a cherished husband, father, brother, and a respected member of his community.
After completing his education, Mark obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree from Kent State University, showcasing his dedication to his craft. Known for his incredible talent, he expressed his creativity through his artwork, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of experiencing his profound creations. Mark was acknowledged by the artistic community of Western Reserve with the title of "Hudsonite of Distinction." Mark was also an entrepreneur, as the proud owner of M. L. Hornyak Fine Art Services, where his clients included well-known figures of the Cleveland/Akron area. He had a love of nature, displayed by his passion for birding and gardening, and was proud to share his home-grown garlic and basil pesto with loved ones and friends. Mark worked as a starter at Brandywine Golf Course for over 25 years, where he enjoyed rounds and friendship with "The Brandywiners" weekly league.
Mark is survived by his beloved and supportive wife, Valerie Hornyak, who stood by his side through thick and thin for 40 years of marriage. Additionally, Mark is survived by his sister, Michelle Hornyak and his children Audrey and Meryl Hornyak. Together, the family shared countless memories and forged a bond that will forever remain unbroken.
Mark's wish was to be cremated and a memorial will be held at a later date by the family.
