Marjorie "Jimmie" Leib

Marjorie A. Leib (Jimmie), age 90, passed away February 8, 2023.

Jimmie was born on June 27, 1932 in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from St. Vincent High School and attended The University of Akron. Jimmie always put the needs of others before her own. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her main priorities were always her family and her faith. She was a life long member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church where she was a member of the St. Sebastian Study Club and the St. Sebastian Little Flower Garden Club. She was also a member of the Christ Child Society having served as Vice President.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her infant son, Robert Joseph and her son-in-law, Michael Cianchetti. Jimmie is survived by her children, Charles Jr., Teresa Cianchettti, Chris (Carrie), Jenny (Chris) Minear; grandchildren, Andrew (Justine) Cianchetti, Cate (Rick) Carreira, Olivia Leib, Sarah and Abby Minear; great grandchildren, Aria and Luca Cianchetti, Michael, William and Mia Carreira. As well as many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their love and gratitude to Bob and Diane Heffern and Jane Caprez for all the loving care they gave our mother over the years.

Special debt of gratitude to the team in the Palliative Care/Hospice Unit at Summa; Palliative Program Coordinator, Kathy; Nurses, Stephanie, Trish, JoAnne, Becca, Marla, Lauren, Amy; Massage Therapist, Lisa; Social Workers, Ellen and Angie, and Dr. Ingram and Dr. Naidu. You all are truly angels that walk among us.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St. from 4 to 7 pm. A private burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery following mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Sebastian Foundation, Christ Child Society or the Akron Blind Center.
