Marilyn Piper

Marilyn Esther Piper passed away on June 9, 2023 at the age of 84.

Marilyn was born to her parents George Norman and Caroline Esther (nee Reid) Jones on January 19, 1939 in Detroit, MI. She later graduated from Pershing High School in Detroit and went on to obtain her master's degree in education from Wayne State University. Marilyn has a long and storied career with Warren Consolidated Schools, teaching first and second grade until her retirement in 1994.

Marilyn married the love of her life Glen Piper on June 8, 1957 in Detroit. Together, they raised their two children and enjoyed 63 years of marriage together up until Glen's passing on August 16, 2020.

Marilyn will be dearly missed by her children, Robin (Robert) Kruger and Glen (Debra) Piper; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer (Brad), Julie (Mark), Jill, Melissa, and Matthew; and 3 great-grandchildren, Natalie, Eleanor, and Bennett. She is also survived by her brother, George (Deborah) Jones.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Caroline Jones; and her brother, Dr. Robert (Helen) Jones, M.D.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Hope Lutheran Church, 999 Portage Lakes Drive, Akron from 10 to 11 am. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the church.
