Marie Finelli, 84, died on June 4, 2014, at Bath Manor Special Care Nursing Home after a long illness. Marie was born on December 29, 1929, in Akron, OH, to Helen Yahner and Alphonse Falardeau; she was the oldest of four sisters. She attended St. Vincent High School, and graduated from Marquette University. She was forever influenced by her post-graduate studies at the Sorbonne in Paris. A lover of European Art and Culture, and all things French, Marie spent a lifetime learning the finer points of French cuisine, French and Italian fashion, and she was an ardent student of the Opera and classical music. She worked in fashion merchandising for many years, and travelled extensively. Marie had a sophistication, education, worldliness, and wit that was unique. She was a long time parishioner at St. Sebastian's Church, was a Eucharistic minister, and long term member of the Christ Child Society and St. Sebastian's Little Flower Garden Club. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony F. Finelli. She is survived by her three children, Francis A. Finelli, Daniel A. Finelli, M.D., and Anne Marie Fuller. She has nine grandchildren. She is also survived by her three sisters, Suzanne Hayes, Collette Brewster, and Claire Dallarosa, and their families. Visitation will be at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St., Akron on Friday, June 6, 2014, from 5:00-7:00. Funeral mass will be at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church on Saturday, June 7, at 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Sebastian Development Fund.
