Marian Zehnder

Marian Elizabeth Zehnder, 95, passed away Saturday April 21, 2018. She was a Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Heart Association for over 20 years. Marian volunteered at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and Feathered Friends at the Park and an avid bird watcher. She was an alumni of the University of Akron and a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Marian loved to travel, watch sports and participated in fundraising for the arts. She volunteered at the Firestone Golf Turnament for many years. She was preceded in death by parents Geroge and Charlotte Barnes, husband Howard, brothers Robert and Allen Barnes. She is survived by brother Bill Barnes and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd. Copley, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the time of the service. Interment Copley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations my be made to the American Heart Association.
