Mary Raumberger passed away peacefully Wednesday April 5, surrounded by family. Born in Djakovo, Croatia, she moved with her family to Akron, Oh, in 1950. After living in Cleveland and Germany, working and studying art with several prominent painters, she moved to New York City, where she lived for the past 50 years working as a free-lance artist. She gave away her paintings as cherished gifts to her relatives, who will miss not just her great talent but also her fierce independent streak. She is preceded in death by her mother Teresa Hack (Raumberger) and father Josef Raumberger, her brother Steven Raumberger, and her sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Jeffrey Leisinger. She is survived by her sister Ann (Ott) Gangle, her sister Rose (Fritz) Kungl, her sister-in-law Pat Raumberger, her brother John (April) Raumberger, and her nieces and nephews: Alex (Tina) Gangle, Eric (Tanja) Kungl, Lisa (Kevin) Spencer, Paul (Mary Eileen) Kungl, Carla (Todd Crawley) Kungl, Crista (Ken) Pryor, Nicole (Joe) Spoonster, Kat Wills, Philip (Maureen) Raumberger, Erin (Matt) Thorne, Jessica Leisinger, and many great-nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 10, 2017 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 260 Broad St. Wadsworth where the family will receive friend's one hour prior. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
