Margaret Maurer

Margaret Mary Maurer, 88, went home to be with the Lord on February 27, 2018. She was born in Akron, Ohio on November 17, 1929, and graduated from St. Mary's High School (Akron). Later she lived in San Diego, California for over forty years, returning to spend her last few years in Tallmadge. A devout Catholic, Margaret was a life-long member of the Secular Franciscan Order. She also enjoyed baseball, good food and her family. Her generosity, sense of humor and sunny disposition will be greatly missed. Margaret was preceeded in death by her father Frank Maurer, her mother Emma (Aland) Maurer, and brothers Bernard Maurer (Edie) of Cincinnati, and Francis Maurer (Rita) of Tallmadge. She is survived by sister Mary Lawler (John) of Arlington, Virginia and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call on Monday March 5 from 10:30 to 11:30 am at Our Lady of Victory in Tallmadge. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 am.
