Marcella Ruhman

April 7, 1929 — September 21, 2024

Marcella M. Ruhman (nee Horning), passed away on September 21, 2024.

Marcy was a founding member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church. Her faith was very important to her, and she lived her life as a kind, caring, helpful, tolerant person.

The most important thing in her life was her family. She was so worried she'd never be a grandma or great grandma, but she was able to enjoy and worry about 10 wonderful grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She enjoyed music and loved to play the piano. One of our favorite childhood memories is of us and our friends standing around the piano and singing while she played.

When the kids became older she went back into the work force and eventually retired from City Hospital where she worked as a secretary in Coronary Care.

Mom selflessly cared for Bill for many years after his kidney transplant and during his struggle with pulmonary fibrosis. She volunteered for many years at Hospice of Visiting Nurse and at The Village at St. Edward. She spent her last years living at The Village at St. Edward where she made many friends.

Preceded in death by parents Urban and Rose Horning, infants Bruce, Deborah and Rebecca, husband of 60 years, William, and brothers Bob, Ray and Charlie. She is survived by daughters Cindy (Larry) Shai, Patty (Bill) Marshall, and Lisa Ruhman (Bruce Frick), and grandchildren Katie and Daniel (Lola) Shai, Bo (Lauren), Ian, Tristan (Natalie), Wesley and Claire Marshall, Lane (Taylor) and Grayson O'Connor, and Jeramiah Frick. Also survived by precious great-grandchildren Adam, Emma and Ethan Shai and Lucy and Madison Marshall.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 11am at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1676 S. Cleveland Massillon Rd, Copley. Friends may call on Friday at Hummel Funeral Home COPLEY, 3475 Copley Road from 9:30 - 10:30. A private family interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Garfield Heights OH 44125. Both provided excellent and compassionate care during her last days, and where she will be remembered for her beautiful smile.
