Malvina Cummins

Malvina (Mel) Cummins passed away on May 31 2009. Born Oct. 12 1928. She was one of the first babies born the month St. Thomas Hospital opened. And was a proud member of the Women's Board for 40 years. She was a graduate of Our Lady of the Elms and received an associate degree from Kent State University. Preceded in death by her husband Jerome L. Cummins on December 13th 2003. She is survived by daughter Kelly (John) Maurer and her beloved granddaughter Kathleen Ann Maurer. She is also survived by her brother Thomas (Rebecca) Savalan. Special cousins Rosalie Russo and Kathleen Tipping and many loving friends. The family wants to thank her special friends Ann Flannery Barb Walter Dorothy Mattes Sue Wampler John Shea and Steven White who have been a great support for many years. Their friendship and kindness was greatly appreciated. Per her request there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday June 3 2009 at 11:30 AM at St. Vincent Church. Memorials may be made to the Women's Board of St. Thomas Hospital.
